A man wearing only a T-shirt and underwear was captured on video as he clung to the hood of a tractor trailer that was driving on the highway.

A video captured by another motorist showed the truck driver swerving to try to shake the man off the hood of his car (video below).

The man was able to hang on for nine-mile ride on the hood of the truck,  according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

The video was posted Aug. 1 on Facebook.

In the video, the man on the hood of the truck yelled to another motorist, “Call the police!”

The man on the hood then tried to punch the windshield of the truck, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported.

The Florida Highway Patrol said that the man on the hood was previously driving a Toyota SUV.

He then started to act strange, stopped the Toyota SUV, got of the car, and walked onto the highway.

Standing in the road caused traffic to slow down.

Using the opening, the man jumped onto the hood of the tractor-trailer and started to hit the windshield.

• “He was banging on the windshield with his hands, and with his forehead,” said Florida Highway Patrol Lieutenant Yanko Reyes, according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

Lt. Reyes said the truck driver “pretty much freaked out” and didn’t stop.

A Florida Highway Patrol officer did stop the truck and take the crazed man into custody.

Hughes told TMZ the man was using a metal object to hit the windshield.

The suspect was taken to a hospital and was to be evaluated for a 72-hour period, according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
