Feel good story of the day!
I think I’ll go say “Hi!” to Olive!
Let’s all just hope the COVID-19 doesn’t last as long as Olive Veronesi’s new supply of Coors Light.
After the 93-year old Pittsburgh-area woman’s plea for more Coors Light went viral last week, the beer-maker’s parent company, Molson Coors, responded in a big way.
That being with a special delivery Monday to Olive’s Seminole, Pa., with ten 15-packs of beer.
That’s 150 cans of Coors Light — a far cry from her dwindling supply just last week.
“I was on my last 12 cans, I have a beer every night, you know what, beer has vitamins in it, it’s good for you, as long as you don’t overdo it.”Olive Veronesi
In fact, a photo of Olive holding a Coors Light and a sign saying “I need more beer” went viral around the world, with KDKA saying its Facebook post garnered more than 5 million views.
Certainly, Coors Light took notice, seeing a perfect marketing opportunity.
Alexis Sadoti, an account executive with a public relations firm for the beer company, said Coors Light made the delivery Monday afternoon “with all the safety precautions” in keeping with the ongoing pandemic, which has been preventing Olive from venturing out on her own for more Coors.
“It’s the least we could do,” Sadoti said of the delivery via email.
But it’s not just Coors. The beer is pouring in from other sources, too, as KDKA reports:
Thousands of people have reached out to get Olive a beer after the photo was posted.
So much so, it’s clear the coronavirus will run out of gas long before Olive runs out of beer this time around.
