And the only person to get any relief from this BS was the guy in the coffin.

LAKEWOOD, N.J. (1010 WINS) – A 100-year-old man was among more than a dozen people at a funeral charged Wednesday for allegedly violating New Jersey’s quarantine order.

In a statement Thursday, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said officers in Lakewood tried to break up a gathering of about 60 to 70 people attending a funeral at 8th Street and Madison Avenue.

Prosecutors said the gathering was in violation of Gov. Phil Murphy’s order banning gatherings for weddings, parties and other events.

When officers tried to disperse the crowd, some people became unruly and argumentative, prosecutors said, adding that a 27-year-old Brooklyn man refused to identify himself and gave a fake name and social security number.

Police ultimately arrested the man; he was charged with hindering apprehension and violating the ban ordered by the governor.

Fourteen other people were arrested at the event and charged with violating the ban on gatherings. Among them was a 100-year-old man from Lakewood.

“The Governor has banned all public gatherings during this state and national public health emergency. This ban applies to everyone……I am imploring everyone to abide by the governor’s order and stay at home, so that we might all get through this very difficult time together — as painlessly as possible.”

The arrests at the funeral came a day after 10 people, including a 99-year-old, were charged at an engagement party in Lakewood. And it came several days after police broke up a bat mitzvah.

Over a dozen arrest made at New Jersey funeral, including a 100 year old man!
