Most of us that grew up in the 60s and 70s loved our sitcoms. We knew what show was coming on next and which network was airing it. And everything around us stopped so we could watch our faves. The TV Guide was etched in our memories!
Back in those days, there was no TIVO…. No Netflix…. No VCRs. If you missed something, you couldn’t rewind it or hit the pause button….. You had to wait for your show to be re-run in the summer……Life was hard!
If you needed to use the facilities, ya had to “hold it” and wait for a commercial break to make YOUR break! If the phone rang you answered it and ended up missing part of “your show”!….. Then you said, “What did I miss?”….. Which caused the rest of the family to miss part of the show.
